San Diego FC added to their midfield depth today when they announced the signing of 24-year-old Bryce Duke. The deal is through June 2027 with club options through the 2027-28 season and the 2028-29 season.

Duke began his professional career at LAFC, where he signed a Homegrown Player contract in 2020 at age 18. He played a bench role during the two years he spent at LAFC where he made a total of five starts while playing in 26 MLS matches.

In 2022, Duke signed with Miami FC where he played with fellow SDFC teammate, Chris McVey. He made a total of 39 appearances and 21 starts, registering one goal and five assists throughout all competitions.

CF Montreal came calling in 2023. Duke made his move to the Canadian MLS side where he most recently played before becoming a free agent. He spent three seasons with Montreal where he made 81 total appearances and 53 starts, scoring five goals and bagging seven assists throughout all competitions.

Bringing in a player like Duke signals SDFC’s continued commitment to strengthening its squad. His veteran presence adds a valuable leadership element, offering experience that is especially important for players in the prime of their careers. With the departure of Luca de la Torre, Duke helps stabilize the midfield by providing seasoned depth to a unit that otherwise leans heavily on younger options.

“Bryce is a versatile midfielder with excellent technical quality and a strong work ethic,” said SDFC Sporting Director Tyler Heaps. “He brings valuable experience having already played over a 100 games in MLS and we look forward to seeing him continue to develop in our environment.”

SDFC begins their MLS season at home, February 21st, against CF Montreal.
