San Diego FC announced Friday that the club and Blackburn Rovers have mutually agreed to terminate the loan of defender Leo Duru, ending his stint in San Diego earlier than originally planned.

Duru joined SDFC in August 2025 on loan from the English side, with the deal initially set to run through June 2026 and including an option for a permanent transfer.

The defender made his debut for San Diego on Aug. 23, 2025, entering in the 58th minute for Franco Negri during a 0–0 draw against the Portland Timbers at Snapdragon Stadium.

In total, Duru made two appearances for San Diego during the 2025 MLS regular season.

The move clears a roster spot for San Diego FC as the club continues to shape its squad moving forward.
