San Diego FC has parted ways with forward Lewis Morgan, trading the Scottish attacker to Toronto FC in exchange for a 2026 International Roster Slot.
Morgan, 29, joined SDFC on Dec. 16, 2025, arriving from the New York Red Bulls ahead of the club’s second MLS season.
He made his San Diego debut on March 7, coming off the bench in the 76th minute during SDFC’s 1-0 victory over Sporting Kansas City. Morgan went on to make 18 appearances across all competitions, starting nine matches and recording one assist.
Despite his experience and attacking ability, Morgan struggled to establish himself as a regular starter in San Diego. With competition for minutes increasing throughout the season, he was unable to consistently find the form that made him an important contributor during his time with the New York Red Bulls.
The move to Toronto gives Morgan a fresh opportunity to get his career back on track, while SDFC gains an additional international roster slot that could provide the club with more flexibility as it continues to reshape its roster.
