San Diego FC announced Thursday that the club has re-signed goalkeeper Jacob Jackson to a guaranteed contract through the 2026 season, with a club option for 2027.

The move brings the San Diego native back for a second stint with SDFC after originally being selected by the club in Stage 1 of the 2024 MLS Re-Entry Draft. Jackson was part of San Diego FC’s inaugural roster during the club’s first MLS campaign before being traded to FC Dallas midway through the 2025 season.

Dallas acquired Jackson on July 30, 2025 in exchange for a natural third-round pick in the 2026 MLS SuperDraft. Shortly after arriving in Texas, Jackson made an immediate impression. He entered a match against St. Louis City SC after starting goalkeeper Michael Collodi was sent off in the 19th minute and delivered a standout performance with 12 saves to help Dallas secure a 1-1 draw at Energizer Park.

His performance earned him MLS Player of the Matchday honors for Week 32 and quickly established him as a reliable option in goal. Across his time with Dallas, Jackson made four appearances, including three starts, while recording one clean sheet before departing the club at the conclusion of the 2025 season.

Now back in San Diego, Jackson adds valuable depth and familiarity to SDFC’s goalkeeping group as the club continues navigating a difficult stretch in the 2026 campaign. Recently, Pablo Sisniega and CJ Dos Santos have been dealing with on-and-off-again injuries so signing Jackson makes sense from a club perspective.
